  1. You can keep your dog fit and healthy by making it run. When we say run, we don’t mean a slow trot but a full-fledged run that will make your dog pant. This will help your pet develop muscles. If you find running besides your dog tiring, you can try cycling or driving slowly in your car or truck, while the dog keeps pace with you.
  2. Play with your pet. Dog’s need a lot of play time and research has proved that this is also beneficial to you, as it will you reduce your stress levels. You can throw a ball or a toy, that they would love running after and picking it up.
  3. Do not over indulge your food with food. Avoid feeding it scraps from your dining table. As the digestive system of the dog is different from that of humans, they will tend to put on more weight. Never over feed your dog beyond its daily ration of food. You must also avoid feeding it every time you open the fridge or have a snack.
  4. Let your dog have a real bone, maybe twice a week. This will help him control his aggressive behavior. Your dog will love munching and chewing on the bone, which will also help strengthening the teeth.
  5. Switch from a wet food to a dry food as, wet food always tend to fatten. You must also feed your dog meat and this will help it maintain a lean and fit body. A diet containing just grains and vegetables would not be able to provide the necessary nutrients making it lazy.
