The Ford warranty is transferable and the new owner gets the same rights as the previous owner. It is advisable to gain knowledge about the parts that are covered and those not covered under the warranty.
What does the Ford warranty cover?
The type of coverage that is provided by Ford warranty is measured based on years in service and miles driven.
  • One end of the bumper to the other end – 3 years or 36,000 miles
  • Powertrain - 5 years or 60,000 miles
  • Safety resistant system - 5 years or 60,000 miles
  • Corrosion (Perforation only) - 5 years and unlimited miles

The Ford warranty gives legal right to the owner of the vehicle. It is important to remember that these rights can vary from one state to the other and you need to be aware of your rights depending on the state you live in.
The Ford warranty will be applicable if you manage your vehicle properly and take it an authorized Ford dealer for repairs. The extended warranty coverage is applicable for certain parts of the vehicle subject to conditions. The extended cover applies to engine, transmission, front wheel drive and rear wheel drive.
What does Ford warranty does not cover?

  • Damages that are caused due to theft, riot, fire, vandalism, explosion, collision and accidents are not covered.
  • If the vehicle suffers damage due to usage of contaminated fuels and fluids then the warranty does not cover it. Similarly, if there is an accidental spill or customer applies chemicals resulting in damage then it is also not covered.
  • If you misuse the vehicle by driving through deep enough water to cause damage, drive it over curbs or overload it then such damages are also not covered.
  • Damage caused due to alteration, modification, tampering with the parts of the vehicle, installing car parts of other companies is not covered by Ford warranty.
  • The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear and maintenance. This includes changing oil, clutch linings, wiper plates, tire balancing, wheel alignment and brake pad lining.
When does the Ford warranty begin?
The Ford warranty begins the day you take delivery of the vehicle or the day when you first put it into service, whichever is first. It is always advisable to check your vehicle properly before delivery. If you see any kind of damage, you can inform the dealer about it and get it corrected.
You need not pay repairs that are covered by the Ford warranty during the coverage period. In some cases, Ford may also offer a special adjustment program that covers part or full cost of the repairs beyond the terms of the warranty.
