Dangers of High Blood Pressure

Statistics are proof that the number of people who suffer from high blood pressure has been on the increase. There are various reasons due to which there has been such an increase all over the world. There are various health complications that occur due to high BP and if left unattended, these could also be fatal.
You would be surprised to know that high BP could be riskier than heart attack. In most cases it has been found to contribute to heart attacks in both men and women. Here is a list of dangers, which can be attributed to it.
  • The human heart pumps blood all over the body and if you have uncontrolled BP, it could lead to damage to the arteries that carry blood. If the blood cannot flow freely to the heart, it could lead to coronary heart disease. Over a period of time, it could also lead to enlarged heart and heart failure.
  • Similar to the heart, your brain also needs a continuous flow of blood to keep it in top working condition. As the blood vessels of the brain get damaged, it could lead to stroke and dementia (it is a disease that can result in problems with vision, memory and reasoning).
  • Blood vessels that are damaged could also lead to kidney failure. As the kidneys will not be able to filter waste from the blood, it could lead to toxic accumulation in your body and this could be the reason for many diseases in the human body.
  • Your eyes could also get damaged leading to blurred vision and in some extreme cases permanent loss of vision.
  • BP has been known to increase the inability among men to have and maintain an erection.
  • It could also lead to excess elimination of calcium from the body and this can cause damage to the bones.
Many experts consider high BP to be a silent killer as it comes unannounced and catches most people off guard. It is important to consult your doctor to find out the various causes of this disease, which will help you in controlling it and keeping it within manageable limits.
Apart from the conventional forms of treatment, it can also be treated successfully in the natural way. Regular health checkups and making adequate changes to your lifestyle will help you in minimizing the risk of BP.
Yoga gives you the winning mantra which will help you keeping blood pressure at bay and also recover faster in case you do get it unfortunately.
